Pamela Reed Dooley
Pamela was an oil painting student at the age of 10 from the esteemed North Shore of Boston painter Robert Scott Jackson. She is originally from Newbury, Massachusetts where her family has been since 1638. At 18 she went to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to study the art of fashion illustration where she learned such techniques as gesture and figure drawing.
After graduating with an associate’s degree she moved to Boston and became a member of the Newburyport rt Association and also the Water Street Art Gallery.
She is past president of the Wickford Art Association in North Kingstown Rhode Island where community, learning, and growth is nurtured. The art association is a non-profit and has been a part of the community for over 60 years.
Pamela has participated in the annual Narragansett Art Festival and Wickford Art Festival. Her work has been shown at Five Main Gallery in Wickford, Fine Art at Chapel View in Cranston, Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, and the Krul Gallery in Narragansett.
Light, color, and values are ongoing learning skills in painting. Pamela’s favorite subject matters are landscape, still life, and portraits. She is inspired by such artists as John Singer Sargent, Anders Zorn, and Dennis Miller Bunker to name a few.
Pamela lives in Rhode Island with her husband, Tom, and beautiful daughter Grace May.
