Mark Fernandez is primarily a self-taught painter. He has attended workshops with Plein Air artists, including, Randall Sexton, David Lussier, and Colley Whisson to further his understanding of the painting process. Mark recieved a BFA in ceramics from Coe College in 1976.

He resides in Rhode Island and paints the New England coasts, mountains, and coastal towns of the region. Mark’s Objective is to capture how light and shadow transform the spectacular and the ordinary into a point of view in his paintings.
